Why is there so much Poverty with 37,000 NGOs Operating in Pakistan?

Where is the money going?

Last October 2003 a reliable source in Islamabad revealed that there are around 37,000 NGOs (Non-Profit Organizations) operarting in Pakistan out of which only 400 were visibly doing work on poverty reduction or education.

Last March 2004 another offical informed me that mind-boggling amount of money was coming to these NGOs, enough to rid Pakistan of all Poverty but very little was being spent on the poor.

Last month Gen. (Retd.) Jahandad Khan of Al Shifa Hospital made a similar disclosure in Los Angeles.
