Once Wasted, It's Gone FOREVER !

The day Pakistanis and Pakistani Expatriates truly start respecting everyone's TIME (Waqt), it will mark the beginning of a new era, a period of progress and prosperity.

When we attend an American gathering we turn up on time but we attend our own Pakistani functions we are invariably 1 to 3 hours late without compunction. We don't feel the need to offer apologies !

Some of us who initially tried to be punctual were aghast to see the hosts in pajamas. Arriving on TIME (Waqt) became a cause of embarrassment for them !

Americans make appointments with me and are always on TIME (Waqt). Desis too make appointments and arrive late without failure most of the TIME with decorous excuse : "The freeway was jammed."
