SEOUL : Member British House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed has attended the Summit of World leaders “The World at a Turning Point”, A Global Vision of Peace and Good Governances in Seoul.
He delivered a lecture on “Israel-Palestine Issue”. He was the first Muslim to have been invited to address the World Jewish Council a few years ago in Jerusalem. We celebrated 1300 years of unity and protection of Jews from the days of Prophet Mohammed (SWS) and Hazrat Ummer to Usmania rule.
In his address to the World Jewish Council, he said that all disputes including Kashmir, Chechnya and Balkans have to be resolved through peaceful means but " No peace without Justice", You can not impose peace on any nation.
He said that where ever there are Armies of invasion and oppression, there always will be armed resistance.
As a Kashmiri victim of Indian oppression he told them about 80,000 murders, rape and torture by the Indians. He said that Abu Mazen can’t assert his leadership until the Israelis continue assassinating Palestinians, there is no Infrastructure, no economy and security.
We need to ensure that there is Human rights, respect for others , tolerance, compassion, eradication of poverty , rule of law and Justice for all, That’s how leaders can become popular within their communities.
Lord Nazir said that Palestinian and Israelis are deeply hurt, Thousand of people have been killed, twice more Palestinians than Israelis.
Since 1967, 650000 Palestinians have been detained by the Israelis that’s 20% of the population.
He said that the Road Map to peace can only succeed fi the 5,892 prisoners are released,
There are 1500 Military regulations governing the West Bank, and 1400 in Gaza.
1,134 homes demolished in Gaza alone.
When people are pushed to limits having being denied their very humanity, honour and dignity and legitimate method of defending themselves and their families. they will resort to violence.
