Four of a same family elected parliamentarians

SARGODHA: The Pakistan Muslim League (QA) got a distinction when four members of a same family were elected on its tickets to the national and provincial assembly here.

The PML (Q) coordinator Ch. Anwar Ali was elected for the sixth time as member national assembly from NA-67; his son Aamir Sultan who was district president of the PML (Q) become member of Punjab Assembly; his daughter-in-law former chairperson of district council Sargodha, Tanzeela Aamir was elected MNA on the women seat on the PML (Q) ticket; and the husband of his nephew, Faisal Farooq Cheema was elected member of Punjab Assembly from the same district.

While the daughter of a joint director of the family’s sugar mills, Dr. Nadia Aziz was elected on PPP-P ticket to the provincial Punjab assembly.

All the Punjab Assembly members were elected from the constituencies PA-32, 34 and 35.

As in Pakistan over 60 percent legislators used to come from the sub-urban areas, it is therefore a tradition that a father used to shift his traditional or family seat of parliament to his son, daughter or son-in-law.

However the phenomenon of the general elections in urban areas has been entirely changed and the voters take their own decision while using their right to vote and even sometime giant politicians faced defeat.
