ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Police Research and Development has been renamed as "National Police Bureau" w.e.f November 16, this year, according to a notification issued by Ministry of Interior.
The notification says that National Police Bureau. headed by a director general not below the rank of the additional inspector general of police shall be established.
The Bureau shall function as permanent secretarial of the National Public Safety Commission and the National Police Management Board, it says. The government shall determine the organization of the National Police Bureau and provide such number of staff as it may determine from time to time.
The National Police Bureau shall perform research and development functions as assigned to it by the National Police Management Board and the National public safety Commission, the notification says. The Bureau will perform such other functions as may be assigned to it by the Government.
