No reduction in US education visas for Pak students, US Consul says

KARACHI : America did not mark any slash in the quota of education visas for the Pakistani students, however, after getting assurance from the students that they will return back to their country after acquiring education the visas would be issued.

This was stated by the US Consul, Bernard Advard Link on Sunday here at a seminar titling "Career Counseling" which held during the two-days long 14th Pakistan International Education Exhibition (PIEE) at Expo Center Karachi. The exhibition was organized by World Learning Bureau in collaboration with British Council.

Director World Learning Bureau, Rashidul Haque, Jamaludding Syed, Syed Athar Javed, Zehra Raza of British University, Robina Hoodbi of Australian University and representatives of the foreign universities also spoke on the occasion.

The US Consul, Bernard Advard said the around eight thousands Pakistani students have been acquiring education in America, and it was wrong perception that the issuance of US visas for Pakistani students was difficult.

" The issuance of US education visas is not difficult, rather it is easy, however, it takes little time in the completion of formalities, but despite it after completing the requisite criteria Pakistani student would be issued with US educational visas within a period of four months," he said.

He assured the Pakistani students that the procedure of acquiring US education visas would be made more easy, however, the issuance of visa would be conditional as the student would be asked to give guarantee of returning back to their country after acquiring education.

The US Consul appreciated the education exhibition, and congratulated the organizers on providing the facility of getting information abut visa and education in America, Britain, Canada, Australia, Cyprus and other countries.

Meanwhile, the exhibition culminated on Sunday, after getting immense response of the students as more than 30,000 students visited the Expo Center. The same exhibition will also be held in Lahore on April 13, 14 and in Rawalpindi on April 16, 17 at Pearl Continental Hotel.
