MMA not for annulment of LFO: Fazal

--Something to be accepted contrary to wishes

RAWALPINDI: Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, MMA Central Secretary General has said that MMA does not intend to annul the Legal Framework Order (LFO) but pursue for its approval by the Parliament in order to make it as a part of the constitution.

Talking to newsmen after the prize distribution ceremony at Dar-ul-Haloom here, the MMA leader has denied any difference of opinion in MMA ranks and said that no body should draw a line before the start of dialogue with the government. He said that something would be accepted contrary to the wish.

Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that Supreme Council of MMA would decide its future strategy in its meeting being held Thursday night. He said that MMA does not want to annul the LFO, but wishes to be part of the constitution after its approval by the Parliament.

He said that government should explain its position on the inspection of arms adding that MMA has not adopted a common stand on Indo-Pak talks

He said that both the countries should start talks with sincerity and should know the sensitivity of the matter to resolve the issue peacefully, otherwise the international community would intervene which will not be suitable both for India and Pakistan.

MMA leader said that United Nations has last its vitality and the decisions are being implemented with force.

He said that if we have to decide the matter, something has to be accepted contrary to the wishes. He said invitation was issued for holding dialogue between the opposition and the government on the Legal Framework Order and the decisions would be made on the negotiating table. He said that MMA wants for maintaining supremacy of the Parliament and the constitution.

He said that West and American consider Islam as their enemy.
