Dear President Bush,
We feel very disappointed and saddened by the decision of your administration regarding the Holy Land Foundation which has helped thousands of desperately needy and forsaken people, including children, many of them orphans, in Palestine and other areas of the world. In responding to Israel’s urgings and freezing the assets of HLF and other groups you have prevented invaluable assistance from reaching the desperately needy people. We as law abiding US citizens cannot have our rights and freedoms subjected to the whims of a foreign country.
Major American Muslim organizations are UNANIMOUS on this issue. Please respond and reconsider this ill-advised decision to target HLF and others so that the many poor people who depend on their aid will not be deprived, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. Please act now.
