Death of Prof Mohammed Rashid Chaudhry

We are saddened by the news of the sudden death of Professor Mohammed Rashid Chaudhry at his residence in Lahore. Dr. Chaudhry was the recipient of Tamghae Quaid-i-Azam, 1969 and Sitara-e-Imtiaz, 1985. He was a founding member of the Lahore Mental Health Association and developed a rehabilitation center for the mentally ill, Fountain House, in Lahore. He was the Past President of the World Islamic Association for Mental Health and Vice-Chair of the World Psychiatrist Association. His death is a great loss for the family, friends, psychiatrist associations, teachers, and Pakistan. May Allah SWT rest his soul in Heaven and give peace and courage to the family to bear this loss. He was a committed community worker and an excellent teacher. He will be missed by his friends in the United States.
