A Pakistani Needs Your Help Mohammed Ismaeel Qureishy
President, Muslim Jurist Association of the World
Allama Iqbal Town, LahoreAhmad Adnan Chaudhry, a young Pakistani student who came to the US for higher studies and was sent to jail instead (Link, October 20, 2000), needs our support. His brother is here and his family has spent a huge amount despite its limited resources back home.
A request to members of the community and bretheren in Islam and also to all those who believe in justice and fair play has been made. A substantial amount is still needed to be raised to pay to experts who can testify to scientific, medical, and other technical evidence to prove his innocence. It is urged that everyone should extend his cooperation and help materially and in whatever manner he can..
I have gone through the whole case. I also had meetings with the present defence attorney, who believes in Adnan’s innocence.
I think that we as a whole have to resist at this stage and should let the world know that the Muslim Ummah is united and cares for one another. People should know that we will resist when we are made the victim of a hate crime.
We have to go to the court to witness the trial of this young innocent student so that the jury, the judge and the prosecution know that he is not alone. Pray for Adnan Chaudhry. May Allah bless us all.
