BBC and the American Media Ilyas Choudry, via e-mail
I was listening to theBBC program NewsHour broadcast between 7:00AM.-8:00AM. Central standard North America Time November 02, 2000, when I heard this news item:
In 1974, the Christian massacred Muslims of South Lebanon militia, which had collaborated with the Zionists. For the next twenty-four years, the Christian militia and the Zionists kept oppressing the Muslims.
However due to the efforts and struggle of the Islamic group Hezbollah, the Zionists were compelled to leave South Lebanon and fled away overnight, although according to their own announcement, they were going to leave in six months.
Now the Christian militia is left at the mercy of the Muslim Hezbollah which could take revenge of the brutal massacre of 1974 but to everybody’s surprise, there are no massacres, no mass killings, no burning of the businesses-shops of the Christians, no violence whatsoever. The Christians are feeling much more happy and secure than ever before. In fact, one Christian shopkeeper in the BBC report said he was scared to see the UN Army build-up around his city, adding that the Muslim Hezbollah had treated them most fairly.
Let’s see if the American media also presents an unbiased report highlighting the Peace of Islam Spirit reported by the BBC.
