NAB investigation officers’ disinterest
in cases noticed
LAHORE:
Accountability Court has taken a serious notice of the NAB investigation
officers’ lackluster approach towards the pending cases and
non-appearance in the Court.
The Investigation Officer during the hearing of the
bribery and corruption reference against NAB Additional Director,
Mirza Sultan Muhammad Saleem was found absent, of which, the Court
taking serious notice issued a warrant against him.
The Court terminating the physical remand of Tahir
Owais arrested in bank fraud case sent him to jail on judicial remand
until October 1. Warrants of arrests were issued against a company’s
M. D., Raja Riaz Ahmad, former Manager, Ghalib Mahmood and Asad Quraishi,
who were involved in the cooperative scandal, for not appearing in
the court. The Accountability Court has summoned a company’s
director, Tariq Hameed, involved in the financial scams, on October
8, while further hearing of the reference against director Shahid
Awan involved in forex scandal was adjourned until September 27.
