billion will be spent on Gawadar this year: PM
GAWADAR:
Prime minister, Shaukat Aziz has said that Rs134 billion would be spent
in Makran, especially on Gawadar mega-project during current fiscal
year and a major oil refinery would also be set up in Gawadar.
He was addressing the foundation-laying
ceremony of ‘Awami Markaz’ in the coastal city Gawadar of
Balochistan province.
Shaukat Aziz told that Rs25 million would
be spent on the construction of Gawadar ‘Awami Markaz’.
The prime minister told that Rs134 billion
would be spent in Makran, especially on the Gawadar mega-project during
current fiscal year, while in the next fiscal year an amount of Rs2100
billion would be spent on development works, mega-project and for the
provision of basic facilities to the people.
Shaukat Aziz told that a meg-oil refinery
would be set up in Gawadar and comprehensive measures would be taken
for development of tourism and minerals.
Prime minister announced that the people
would be provided rations at cheaper rates from the government departmental
stores in Gawadar during the month Ramzan ul Mubarak.
Earlier, Governor Balochistan, Owais
Ghani, Chief Minister, Jam Mohammad Yusuf, federal and provincial ministers
and a large number of notables warmly welcomed the prime minister on
his arrival at Gawadar airport.
