PM visits 90, meets MQM leaders
KARACHI:
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz today visited Nine Zero, the centre of
the Muttehadda Qaumi Movement (MQM) and met with their leaders.
Talking with journalists on this occasion, he said that
he has paid this visit in connection with strengthening the contacts
with the allied parties.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz reached 90 along with President
Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Governor Sindh
Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
On reaching 90, the MQM workers present there gave a
warm welcome to the prime minister by clapping and showering with
rose petals on him.
Members of the MQM Rabita Committee, federal and provincial
ministers and nazim of Karachi welcomed the prime minister.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s meeting with the
Rabita Committee members for about half an hour. During the meeting,
Shaukat Aziz and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain talked with Quaid of Muttehadda
Altaf Hussain on telephone.
Altaf Hussain welcomed them on coming at 90. He
said during his telephonic conversation that the country is passing
through extreme crucial situation and therefore the matters of Swat
and Waziristan should be tackled through dialogue and understanding.
If the matter is not resolved through dialogue then the security forces
should take care during their operation in the area to avoid any loss
of innocent citizens.
