Karachi blasts probe heading in right direction: PM

BOLAN: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Tuesday expressed confidence over the country’s investigation agencies to probe into the recent terrorist attack on Benazir Bhutto’s rally in Karachi.

Talking to mediapersons here, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the professionalism of country’s investigation agencies and said they were capable enough to deal with any case.

The Prime Minister said the probe to Karachi blasts was heading in right direction, adding no foreign investigator would be approached to handle the Karachi blast case.

He said country’s investigation agencies had also produced hundred percent of findings in the previous Karachi-cases including the Sheraton Hotel, US Consulate and Nishtar Park cases.

On National Reconciliation Ordinance, the Prime Minister said it was not aimed to benefit a particular province but meant for all political parties in the country including those belonging to Balochistan.

He said the NRO would end the politics of victimization and vendetta, and would contribute to improve political environment.

When asked about the law and order situation in Balochistan, Prime Minister Aziz said it had been improved to a great extent, adding the people were enjoying peace as compared to the past.

About the proposed ban on rallies, Prime Minister Aziz said the political parties were being consulted to agree at a security plan for the period before, during and after the general election.
