Pakistan, US working for global peace: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Monday that Pakistan and the US had many shared values and both countries were working together for global peace.

He said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with Council of Foreign Relations President Richard N Haass. The council is one of the most important think tanks in the US.

The prime minister said both countries had a long history of friendship and were working together for peace, progress and prosperity in the world. Talking about the meeting, he said the situation in the region, including Iran and Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s dialogue with India came under discussion. Speaking on the occasion, Haass said the objective of his visit was to get a sense as to what was happening in Pakistan as far as politics, security challenges and economy wer concerned. app
