Baloch nationalist parties must unite, says Kachkol
QUETTA: Kachkol Ali Baloch, leader of the opposition
in the Balochistan Assembly, on Sunday urged all Baloch nationalist
parties to unite to fight their ‘common enemy’.
Addressing National Party workers in Panjgur district,
Kachkol said that Nawab Akbar Bugti’s killing had given a new
direction to Baloch nationalist politics where the need for defending
the Baloch land, resources and coast had become paramount. He added
that all nationalist forces should unite to turn Bugti’s dream
of a single Baloch nationalist party into a reality. “We need
to prefer Baloch nationalism over the Pakistani parliament. All nationalist
leaders should think above party affiliations by giving the Baloch
cause supremacy over other issues. A single Baloch party is the need
of the hour for the Baloch,” said Kachkol. He said that it was
useless for the Baloch leaders to continue sitting in “powerless”
assemblies, adding that the National Party was considering quitting
the assemblies. staff report
