Free schools established for quake
affected children
RAWALPINDI, Oct 21 : Free schools for
the earthquake-affected children had been established in the Relief
Camps of earthquake victims located in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The expenditures of schools will met by
“Paragonians” by donating one rupee daily in the relief
school fund.
This was disclosed by the Principal Paragon
School and College Chaklala Scheme III Mrs. Mussarat Azhar while distributing
utility items among the affectees in relief camps here Friday.
She said that on the call of President
Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf, the campaign of donating one rupee daily has
been started to promote the spirit of self-help and sacrifice among
the students.
She informed that free schools had been
set up in District Administration’ s Relief Camp of Sports Complex
Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences,
Islamabad.
Mrs. Mussarat Azhar informed that arrangements
had been made to provide books, bags, and all other required stationary
items to the affected students. She also distributed various essential
items among the women residing in the camps and stated that efforts
are also being made to get blankets and “tents” for the
affectees in far flanged areas.
She appealed to the government that “special
guzara allounce be issued to all the affected persons staying in relief
camps.
