Musharraf to take oath under 1973 constitution
ISLAMABAD:
President Pervez Musharraf will take oath for his next term as the
president of Pakistan under 1973 constitution.
According to Geo News, Attorney General of Pakistan
Malik Abdul Qayyum said that 1973 constitution is the supreme law
of land even today.
According to AGP, President Musharraf contested the
presidential election under the 1973 constitution and now he would
take oath under the same constitution.
Asked whether the oath taking of judges of higher
judiciary would precede his oath, Malik Abdul Qayyum said the decision
in this connection would be made later on.
