‘Pakistan on fast track to economic development’LAHORE: Pakistan is one of the frontrunners among Asian countries that are on the fast track to economic development, said Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the Young President’s Organisation (YPO) regional conference at the Governor’s House on Sunday, he said that poverty would no longer be a problem in Pakistan if the current growth rate persisted, adding that Pakistan would soon emerge as one of the most prosperous countries in the world.
He said that there had been massive development in the education, healthcare, transport and communication and industrial sectors in Punjab over the past seven years, and this was only because of the sustained policies of the government.
He called upon multi-national investors and large industrial organisations to invest in the housing, food processing and manufacturing sectors, and assured them of the government’s complete cooperation. APP
