NWFP Senior Minister lauds Turkey’s
assistance for quake affectees
PESHAWAR Nov 25 : The NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq
has lauded the generous assistance of the brotherly Muslim country
Turkey for earthquake affectees in Pakistan.
Turk people have chosen best leadership in shape of
Prime Minister Tayyab Ardagan who had all courage and capabilities
to take bold steps for the cause of nation and Muslim Ummah as whole",
he added.
He was talking to a delegation of Pak Turk Teachers
led by Turkish educationist Mustafa Tunjai that called on him at Markaz-e-Mushawarat
Peshawar and apprised him of their relief activities for quake affectees.
The delegation told that their organization donated 4 million dollars
for quake affectees in the President Relief Fund soon after occurrence
of the holocaust while it has recently arranged 6 million dollars
for construction of schools
in the affected areas. Out of this amount 4 schools two each would
be established at worst hit areas of Balakot and Mansehra with a cost
of 1.5 million dollars while rest of amount would be spent on construction
of 6 schools in various affected areas of AJK.
Sirajul Haq thanked Mustafa Tunjai and his orgnization
as well as people and government of Turkey for extending generous
assistance for earthquake affectees. He also welcomed offer of their
organization for also establishing school at Peshawar for the children
of quake affectees and assured for properly considering the matter
of providing piece of land for this purpose. He expressed satisfaction
over the fact that their organization has spread a network of educational
institutions all over the country under Pak-Turk International Schools
and Colleges including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Khairpur, Multan,
Quetta, and Peshawar while it was also actively engaged in 80 other
countries to equip youth with ornament of education.
The Senior Minister said that the assistance of
Turk brethren in wake of the recent horrendous earthquake has enhanced
morale of Pakistani nation. He said that Pakistanis would never forget
assistance of the world community and would not only remain thankful
but would also seek opportunities to pay in the same coin and spirit.
