Pakistan ready to open all crossing points for meeting of Kashmiris: Shaukat Sultan

ISLAMABAD Nov 17 : Director General ISPR Major General Shaukat Sultan has said Pakistan is ready to open all the crossing points on the Line of Control on daily basis for enabling the Kashmiris of the two parts to meet each other. But, he said, India says it has some administrative problems in this regard.

Talking to a private TV channel Shaukat Sultan said that opening of Haji Pir- Urri crossing point would facilitate the Kashmiris from Baramula, Urri of occupied Kashmir and Bagh of AJK.

Briefing about the crossing points on the LoC , he stated that Nauseri- Tatwal crossing point will be opened on 19th November, Rawlakoat -Poonch on 21st November, Hajji Pir Urri on 24th November and Tata Panni Maindhar crossing point on 28th November, adding that India has given schedule of opening crossing points up to 16th December.

Commenting on the Indian response to the Pakistan’s call for aid and assistance for the quake affected areas, he said that after October 8 massive earthquake India proposed to send its Army helicopters and soldiers. While on the opening of crossing points it shows the administrative problems.

Responding a question about reopening of the roads and distribution of financial aid in the quake affected areas he stated that all roads of the quake-affected areas have been reopened and three billion and sixty-two crore rupees distributed amongst the people of Azad Kashmir and NWFP.
