Boucher had no say in PPP, PML-N impasse: Rehman Malik

By Jasmeen Manzoor

LAHORE: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik has said that United States Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher had no say in resolving the deadlock over the issue of judges’ restoration. In an exclusive interview, he denied reports that he was serving as mediator between the US, the PPP and the Presidency. He said that Geo TV presenter Shahid Masood had incorrectly claimed that he had told Masood, off-the-record, that he [Malik] was now an establishment man. He said that he had merely replied in the positive when he had been asked whether all intelligence agencies were reporting to him. However, he added, “This does not make me an establishment person.”
