Akhtar Mengal released today
KARACHI: Former chief minister Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar Mengal made his way out of the hospital after his release order issued by the court. Workers of Balochistan National Party (BNP) welcomed their leader when he came out of the hospital where he remained under medical treatment for two months. The hospital was declared sub-jail for Akhtar Mengal by the government. Sindh Interior Minister Zulifiqar Mirza carrying the release order arrived at the hospital. Talking to media on the occasion, Megal demanded the probe into the killings of all innocent people including former PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. He termed his release as the defeat of dictatorship and the victory of democracy. Akhtar Mengal thanked the media and civil society, adding the judges restoration is vital to dispel the sense of deprivation among Pakistanis. The Baloch leader said he was released without any deal, as “the word ‘deal’ does not exist in the Baloch dictionary.”
