Misconduct reference filed against Sindh chief justice
KARACHI: Former Advocate General of Sindh Anwar Mansoor Khan has sent a reference of misconduct against Sindh High Court Chief Justice to Supreme Judicial Council and sought his immediate suspension. In a petition, sent to the supreme judicial council under Article 209 of the constitution, Anwar Mansoor Khan said the Sindh High Court Chief Justice arranged transfer of a case in his court, which was being heard by another bench and decided the matter. Talking to newsmen in Sindh High Court after sending complaint, he complained that the CJ called a case from the court of Justice Qazi Khalid to his court, which he could not do under the rules. The counsel moved an application that he had lost his faith in the CJ but the CJ did not entertain the application and adjourned the case. He again took it up the case on May 5 and dismissed it. In a reference to the SJC he prayed the council to suspend chief justice Muhammad Afzal Somroo from the post of CJ SHC and initiate inquiry of misconduct against him.
