Rehman asked me to request poll delay: Hoti

LAHORE: NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has said that Interior Affairs Adviser Rehman Malik had asked him to request a delay in the by-elections, Dawn News reported on Monday. Citing a statement issued by the NWFP Information Ministry, it quoted NWFP Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain as saying that Rehman Malik had told Hoti that the other three provinces had already agreed to the delay. Talking to Express News, Hussain said the federal government was misleading the people. Geo News quoted Awami National Party Information Secretary Zahid Khan as saying that Rehman Malik had written directly to the NWFP chief minister. While talking to reporters, Rehman Malik declined to comment on Hoti’s statement, saying he had not read it yet. daily times monitor
