Nawaz not to contest by-polls
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Shairf has decided not to take part in the upcoming by-elections, PML-N spokesman Pervez Rasheed, told British radio. The spokesman said the nomination papers of Nawaz Sharif were rejected during the general elections and he had not challenged the decision due to PCO judges in courts. He said the same situation still continues, so he wouldn’t contest the bye-elections. According to the British radio website, Shahbaz Sharif would participate in the by-election for the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-154. The nomination papers of Shahbaz Sharif were rejected in general elections due to a criminal case. “ After his acquittal in the case there was no obstacle in his contesting the elections,” his lawyers said.
