Gilani demands implementation of UN resolutions

ISLAMABAD, Mar 22 (APP): In occupied Kashmir, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has appealed people to stay away from the coming so-called elections and demanded polls under UN Supervision to decide the future of the disputed territory. Syed Ali Gilani was addressing a public meeting at Tourist Reception Centre on Friday. He said that people had not offered supreme sacrifices of life, honour and property for mere polls, KMS reported. He pointed out that polls held in the presence of seven lakh Indian forces cannot have any credibility,” adding, “These polls are only military operations that cannot be termed as a democratic exercise.” Hurriyet leader maintained, “We are not against elections but these can only be held in a fair and impartial way after the demilitarization and under the supervision of United Nations or any other third friendly country.” He reiterated that the ongoing liberation movement would continue until the goal was achieved. Criticizing the National Conference (NC) and its leadership, Syed Ali Gilani said that NC had played vital role for Kashmiris enslavement in the Indian yoke. It is pertinent to note that the NC is headed by former puppet Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omer Abdullah.
