Wapda from today will provide 100MW more power to KESC

KARACHI: Wapda effective today will provide 100Megawatt more electricity to KESC for surmounting the shortfall in demand at peak hours in the evening. Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) sources told Geo News that following this additional supply KESC was now receiving overall 400MW of electricity from Wapda, which would be supplying 300MW of electricity in the morning, while 400MW in the evening hours. Sources further said that even after the additional supply of electricity, KESC was still facing shortfall of 300MW, which was being met through load shedding. Presently, Karachi electricity demand ranges between 2100MW to 2200MW, while the supplies from its own resources and IPPs aggregate to 1500MW only.
