Speaker orders restoration of live TV coverage

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza made her first observation on Wednesday, directing the National Assembly staff to restore the live coverage of the assembly proceedings by private television channels. Earlier, journalists walked out of the parliament against police who cut off the cables of private television channels and allegedly misbehaved with cameramen and technical staff. PPP Information Secretary Sherry Rehman, PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Muttahida Qaumi Movement parliamentary leader Farooq Sattar condemned police’s misbehaviour.
