Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations finalised

LAHORE: The Marqzi Milad Committee has finalised programmes with the city government to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi. The committee’s president, Malik Aftab Ahmed Rabbani, said in a press conference on Tuesday that the main procession would be taken out from the Railway station and it would end at Data Gunj Bukhsh. “About 600 processions will be taken out in the city and the district nazim has assured that 500 policemen will be deployed to deal with any untoward situation,” he said. Rabbani said that 1,000 processions would be taken out in the country. “More than 500 sirat conferences and about 2,000 mehfil-e-naat will be held across the country. All the routes of processions will be decorated with buntings and banners,” he said, adding, “Bhangra will not be allowed in the processions in order to respect the sanctity of the day”.
