KSE hits new record at 15171

KARACHI: Renewed interest of the investor at Karachi Stock Exchange on Wednesday pushed the benchmark 100-Index by 228 points to another record high at 15171. Rising international oil prices allowed fresh interest in energy scrips, providing a positive start to the day's trade. The broader market also witnessed a rally as investors took positions in a variety of scrips available at lower levels. Out of 369 active scrips 207 companies emerged gainers while volumes also increased to 308 million shares traded today as compared to 180 million-shares traded yesterday. Analysts say that rallying oil prices can continue to strengthen E&P scrips, however, further triggers will require clarity on the political front.
