US silent over judiciary restoration in Pakistan: Khawaja Sharif
LAHORE: Deposed Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif of Lahore High Court Tuesday said the respect he had earned after refusing to take oath under PCO would not have come his way even after becoming chief justice of High Court. Addressing the Distric Bar Ukara, he said although the general elections had brought about a silent revolution against President Pervez Musharraf, conspiracies still continue to be hatched. “Until today whoever ruler had come to power was either imported or ready to take dictation from the US,” he maintained. The deposed Justice said the whole world appreciated the lawyers’ movement for restoration of the Constitution but the United Nations and US remained silent over restoration of judiciary in Pakistan.
