November 3 actions against constitution, law: Aitzaz
LAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president, Aitzaz Ahsan has said that November 3 actions were against the constitution and law. Addressing SCBA lawyers’ convention here, he said that the judiciary was assaulted on November 3, 2007 in contravention of the constitution and law. He said that the deposed chief justice, Iftikhar Chaudhry’s house has been turned into private jail and his children Afra, Balaj and Palosha were incarcerated for four months. He said that the police keep raiding the private jails, but the deposed CJ house has been turned into a private jail, when would the human rights organizations pay attention to this, he enquired. Aitzaz Ahsan said that Iftikhar Chaudhry was still the CJP. He said that the ten judges including Justice Muhammad Raza, Justice Shakirullah Jan and Justice Nasirul Mulk were under detention for the last 4 months. He insisted that the two-third majority in the national assembly was not required for the restoration of judiciary. Aitzaz thanked the media and the lawyers on this occasion.
