Power tariff for Karachi users may go up
KARACHI: Wapda has told KESC that it will not supply it electricity on the old tariff of 3.69 rupees per unit and instead will charge it 5.25 rupees, sources told Aaj Kal Thursday. The money that KESC owes Wapda has to be paid according to the new tariff. If Wapda imposes the new tariffs then Karachi’s customers will have to pay two rupees more per unit. KESC currently charges people five rupees per unit and if the tariff goes up, then people will have to pay about eight rupees. It is estimated that there was a loss of six billion rupees because of load shedding and a shutter down strike Thursday. aaj kal report
