Seminars, rallies to mark International Women’s Day

KARACHI: Although the world has been observing International Women’s Day for the last one century, the women continue to be suppressed even today. The day was observed in Karachi with a pledge to ensure laws and regulations formulated for the welfare and protection of women. Various programs were arranged in the city to observe International Women’s Day in Karachi. Caretaker Provincial Minister for Women Development, Nadra Panjwani visited the ‘Mazars’ of Qauid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Ms. Fatima Jinnah and Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, laid floral wreaths and offered fateha. On the occasion, she hoped that the next government will take further steps for the welfare and development of women. She also headed a rally taken out from Mazar-i-Quaid to mark the day. Rallies and seminars were also taken out under the auspices of different organizations in various parts of the city.
