Karachi’s several areas get electricity after 48 hours outage
KARACHI: Several areas of the mega-metropolis city here received electricity after grueling prolonged 48 hours of power outage, as the KESC power generation plant was able to resume its power generation process. KESC sources said that the Bin Qasim Thermal Power Plant and Korangi Power Plant units, which had tripped off due to Wapda stopping supplies yesterday, went into resuming generation of electricity and the power supply to the thickly populated areas of the city—Lyari, Kharadar, Usmanabad, Garden, Ranchore Line, Lea Market, Bolton Market and old city were restored after protracted 48 hours power outage. KESC sources told that the city was faced with a shortage of 100 megawatt of electricity, which was being met through daily two hours load-shedding in the four units of the city’s 52 grid stations.
