President may not attend OIC summit
ISLAMABAD: It is likely that President Pervez Musharraf will not attend the 11th Organisation of Islamic Conference summit scheduled for March 13 to 14 in Dakkar, Senegal, Foreign Ministry sources told Daily Times on Wednesday. The president could not travel to Dakar due to the prevailing political situation in the country, the sources said. In all likelihood, Foreign Minister Inamul Haque would lead the Pakistani delegation for the summit, they added. Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq, however, said no decision had been taken about who would head the Pakistani delegation. The president’s spokesman, Rashid Qureshi, was not available for comment. staff report
