Electricity partially restored to several Karachi areas

KARACHI: The electricity has been partially restored to several areas of the Karachi city, the sources said. Director General PEPCO Tahir Basharat said the supply of 250 megawatts of electricity have been started to Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC). Earlier, WAPDA had suspended power supply to Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), after approval of the federal government. Managing Director KESC said that KANUP will be restored with in 63 hours whereas the electricity of Korangi and Bin Qasim will be restored by 3PM. Earlier, WAPDA had suspended power supply to Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), after approval of the federal government due to the arrears worth Rs 35 billion.
