* Fazlur Rehman, Asif Zardari meet to discuss coalition in Balochistan
By Muhammad Bilal
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that it was clear that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the PML-N, and the Awami National Party (ANP) would make the coalition government. Nisar, accompanied by Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Muhammad Asif, met PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to resolve the differences between the two parties that were causing a delay in the formation of a coalition government. Addressing the media after the meeting, Khawaja Asif said it was a continuance of negotiations between the two political parties to develop consensus on all issues. He said he was hopeful that the two sides would reach a consensus within a week or 10 days. He said a couple of problems remained between the PPP and the PML-N, adding that the party was maintaining contact to thwart PML-Q’s efforts to woo the PPP. Nisar told reporters that there was no difference of opinion between the two parties, which included the issue of the restoration of the judiciary. “There is no obstacle in resolution of any issue,” he said. The two parties would continue to meet in the coming days to resolve all issues amicably, he added. “This meeting would give a boost to us,” he said. Some issued have been worked out, while others would be settled soon, he added. Sources privy to the meeting said the PML-N did not show any flexibility on the issue of occupying a cabinet slot in the Centre, which the PPP has been pressuring it on. They said Zardari held consultations with his legal aides before the meeting. Fazl-Zardari meeting: Separately, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also met Zardari and discussed the possibility of a coalition in Balochistan.
