Accountability court releases Asif Zardari’s assets
RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi Bench dropped five of the seven corruption cases against Asif Ali Zardari and aide Rehman Malik under the provisions of the National Reconciliation Ordinance and released his assets. The NAB court terminated SGS, ARY Ursus Tractor and Polo Ground references against the PPP leaders. The court also ordered releasing of frozen and confiscated assets including accounts, sugar mills and some other assets. The court has also released the impounded cars of former director of FIA Rehman Malik. Asif Zardari had spent over 8 year behind bars in some of these cases. Farooq Naek represented Mr Zardari and State Prosecutor-General Dr Danish has already submitted dropping of the cases under the spirit of NRO legislation.
