Cases against Benazir, Zardari were bundle of lies, says Naik

RAWALPINDI: Asif Zardari’s advocate Farooq Naik has said the cases filed against Asif Ali Zardari and Benazir Bhutto were a bundle of lies. Talking to newsmen after the cases dropped against PPP Co-chairperson, Naik said the justice has finally been served. “Nothing has been proved against Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari, so the court has lifted freeze on their all assets,” the lawyer said. The court has dismissed five of the seven references filed against Zardari, while the decision on remaining BMW and Cotecna cases has been in pending. The accountability courts should now be abolished, he demanded adding these courts must not be used against political leaders. He said the government spent hundreds of thousand dollars from national exchequer on these cases.
