Mullen meets Musharraf, Kayani

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff US Armed Forces, Admiral Michael Mullen left for Afghanistan after completing tour of Pakistan. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff US Armed Forces; Admiral Michael Mullen Tuesday discussed regional security situation and the measures being taken to address it with President Musharraf. Admiral Mullen, who called on the President here at his Camp Office, also discussed the role the two countries were playing in the global war against terror. He was appreciative of the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army in this regard. The president briefed him on the geo-strategic situation. Admiral Mullen also visited General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and met with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani. Both the leaders discussed professional and regional issues. Sources said that both leaders met twice during the visit of Amiral Mullen.
