Saudi Arabia to provide relief goods for
NWFP
PESHAWAR, March.07 Saudi Arabia will provide 75 truckloads
of relief goods for the earthquake survivors of the NWFP.
The consignment, to be reached here on Wednesday, includes
250 modified tents, 1,250 sleeping bag, and 5,000 blankets and quilts
for Alai areas of Bana, Rashnug, Battella, Biary, Sakargah, Tander,
Jameera and Batkool.
This is part of a huge consignment of Saudi relief goods
consisting of 105 trucks. As many as 30 truckloads of relief have
already been delivered to NWFP areas.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan
Earthquake Victims, (SPAPEV), a Saudi Arabia-based government relief
organisation working in Pakistan since the earthquake struck, has
handed over another relief package to the Hira Children Home Haripur,
which is imparting education to quake-affected children, who lost
their parents in the quake.
The relief goods handed over to the Hira Children Home
included 634 cotton shows of different kinds, 692 cotton of biscuits,
seven cottons of tomato ketchup, one cotton of soaps, one cotton of
bed sheets, 320 children bed sheets, 37 blankets for children, floor
bags, 81 cottons of dates, one cotton of sugar, sleeping beds, 302
bed foams, one cotton of cheese (91 piece), respectively.
SPAPEV, Regional Director Abdullah Mosaed Al-Anqari,
says the relief activities are being carried out by their organisation.
Dr Khalid M Al-Othmani, Media Director, Ibrahim Homaily, and Bandar
Qublan, Mohammad Al Al-Sahli, were also present on the occasion.
SPAPEV Regional Director Abdullah Al Anqari said that
his organisation is planning to help reconstruction in the quake-hit
areas. In this regard, a project is under consideration, Al-Anqari
added.
According to the project, SPAPEV will reconstruct
houses, educational institutions for boys and girls, shops, mosques,
etc., with complete necessary facilities.
