Pakistan under focus on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON: Pakistan and the military assistance and compensation it receives from the US are under close congressional scrutiny here, with two committee hearings taking place this week, one in the House and the other in the Senate. The Senate hearing on Wednesday (today) by the Committee on Foreign Relations will feature testimony by Richard Boucher, James J Shinn, assistant secretary of defence for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs, Mark Ward, USAID’s senior deputy assistant administrator for Asia, Anthony C Zinni, former CENTCOM commander, and Wendy Chamberlain, president of the Middle East Institute. khalid hasan
