CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry’s convoy on way to
Multan
OKARA:
The convoy of the chief justice, Mr. Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry
is still on the way from Lahore to Multan.
On reaching Okara District Bar, the chief justice thanked
the Bar for awarding him its life time membership.
Chaudhry Aitezaz Ahsan said that unless the judges wear
the chains of slavery the judiciary will not be freed.
It took more than 12 hours to the chief justice’s
convoy reaching Okara from Lahore. On reaching District Bar Okara,
the chief justice came on the dias and thanked the lawyers and the
people for giving him full support.
Addressing the District Bar Okara, the lawyer of the
chief justice Chaudhry Aitezaz Ahsan said that the first ladder of
our success would be reinstatement of the chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad
Chaudhry. After this, the lawyers will launch a new movement.
He said that the lawyers made this movement a success
in very difficult conditions.
Aitezaz Ahsan said that all political parties will be
compelled to sign an agreement under which every person will get justice
and this agreement will be a new social contract.
President Supreme Court Bar Muneer A. Malik asked the
lawyers to continue their unity from Karachi to Khyber and be aware
of the black sheeps.
Earlier, the convoy of the chief justice left
Lahore at 6-30 in the morning and it was accorded very warm welcome
throughout the way to Larkana. Maunds of rose petals were showered
on the procession at Manga Mandi, Phoolangar, Pattoki and other places.
