NA demands withdrawal of Title from Rushdi
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Friday reiterated firm resolve to uphold Islamic norms and demanded of the British Government afresh to withdraw the Title of Knighthood conferred on Rushdie.
A new resolution, prepared on the directives of Speaker National Assembly said that the
British Government and the British Prime Minister has not only disappointed the Pakistani nation but also hurt the sentiments by not withdrawing knighthood title of Sir from Rushdie.This House again demanded from the British government and British Prime Minister to immediately withdraw the title from Rushdie and seek an apology from Muslim Ummah, the resolution added.
