case: Ex-minister Shahid Jamil given in police remand
ISLAMABAD:
The police here arresting former state minister, Shahid Jamil in Kafila
Siddiqui murder case obtained his four-day physical remand.
Shahid Jamil Quraishi was on interim bail
in a case registered against him under sections relating to keeping
in illegal confinement and suspected premeditated murder.
He had appeared today in the court of
the Islamabad Additional District and Session Judge, Nisar Beg seeking
extension of his bail, which the court hearing arguments from either
sides turned down and terminated his interim bail.
The police, thereafter, arrested Shahid
Jamil outside the court and later requested remand by presenting him
in the court of Senior Civil Judge, Abid Rizwan Abid, which the court
acceded to and gave Shahid Jamil on four-day police remand besides ordered
for presenting him in the court again on June 26.
Following the hearing, Shahid Jamil
Quraishi outside the court denied the allegations leveled against him
and said that no such allegation was proved in the chemical examiner’s
report, but even then he has been arrested.
