Wheel-jam on July 10/11 against petrol, CNG prices hike

KARACHI: Transporters have announced wheel jam strike on July 10 and 11 in Sindh including Karachi in protest against the raising of petrol, diesel and CNG prices. Following an emergent meeting of transporters here, Karachi Transport Ittehad president, Irshad Bukhari said that the fuel prices during the last four months rose by over Rs21 per litre and, thereby, the transporters couldn’t keep their business continuing. He said that the demand for a raise in the transport fares now would not be made, as the people were already fed up with hikes in prices. Irshad Bukhari demanded from the government to undo the hiked fuel prices, otherwise, countrywide wheel jam strike would be observed in the next stage.
