National cohesion against extremism is need of hour: Asfandyar
PESHAWAR:
President of the Awami National Party (ANP), Asfandyar Wali Khan said
that national cohesion against extremism is the need of the hour and
asked the government to let the political parties play their role
against extremism.
He was talking with journalists after Qura’an
khwani and dua for former Afghan king late Zahir Shah at Bacha Khan
Markaz, the headquarters of ANP.
Asfandyar Wali said that the situation in the region
is very crucial and all the political parties have to play their role
to meet the challenge and they must have national cohesion for bringing
peace in the region.
He said that if the political parties did not play their
role then a vacuum would be created which will be filled by the extremists.
Asfandyar Wali said that if the US makes aggression
against the Pakistani land then the ANP would resist it.
He said that there is a need of political process and
not the power to stop the extremism and imperialism.
